I've decided that I really am going to build up a decent quantity of stock and have a go at selling at the Raglan Market, though wet, cold, winter weather makes the prospect daunting. Apart from the physical misery, there's the problem of trying to keep paper goods dry!
Oh, what one can achieve when left alone for hours on end on Mothers Day:
This one is a lot greener than it looks in the photo.
Plus one from a couple of days ago:
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow often is the market?
ReplyDeleteonce a month on the second Sunday of the month
ReplyDeleteSounds beautifully manageable!!! We have a new monthly community market very near us, free to set up stalls, and I have been wondering about trying to sell some stuff (foods) ... the fact that it is monthly rather than weekly somehow makes it very appealing for a newbie!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, weekly would seem too much of a challenge to me too. How fortunate to be able to set up for free - ours changes about $30 a time - I'd have to sell two books just to pay for my space - and no money back if it rains:(
ReplyDeleteOh :( Do they still have it on if it rains?
ReplyDeleteYeah. They never cancel. If you are one of the old timers that got in early, then you get an inside spot. Others have - oh hell, elderly moment - not a tent, not a marquee - you know what I mean? but I can't afford to buy one of those and a trestle table unless / until I'm sure I can sell the sufficient books to warrant it.
ReplyDeleteI see. Yeah, I can't remember what they are called either, but I know what you mean!! All the best with it!!!!
